15 Sushi for £3.99

I used to hate sushi but now I really like it. So imagine my excitement when I go into Lidl to buy pastries, as always, and I see this huge pack of sushi for £3.99. This is about #2000 or $5. The foodie in me was dancing to the till with this in hand.

This had 5 different types of sushi inside and some had different looks. I tried to take a clear picture of each of the sushi in the box, but as you can see from the pictures below, there is a reason why I am not a professional photographer.

Now for the star of the show, so here’s the thing I can’t tell them apart, I don’t know which is which so I am going to refrain from reviewing them individually lol. Instead here’s an up close pic of everything from this pack.

Although I liked the sushi itself, the sauces were a bit off to me, especially the soy sauce. I know Soy sauce has a sour/salty taste to it but these? Too much. I really like these , that I bought then 4 times I think. Overall I rate it a strong 4/5 because of the price, the quantity, the quality and the overall packaging.

Okay, that’s it for this post! See you in my next one.

I made Boba Tea at home.

Hey Creatures!

As you can tell from the title , I made Boba Tea also know as Bubble Tea, at home. I also made other forms of drinks with the Boba so not every thing was actually Tea.

It was pretty easy to make and to be honest, ever since I started making my own Boba drinks, I’m begining to wonder why it takes soo much time to get Boba teas made at the shop, especially when I’m assuming they bulk make the Tapioca and all they have to do is make the teas…but I may be wrong.

It’s also interesting how much cheaper and easier it is to make Boba Tea at home compared to buying it at an actual shop. Yeah I understand convenient and preference but from someone who hates spending money but loves enjoying certain ‘luxuries’ in life , you have much more creative freedom with your drink.

I don’t want to sound like I’m throwing shade at people that can afford to buy Bubble tea multiple times… but I am. Teach me your ways, where do you get all that money from?

Anyways…

This is the list of Ingredients that I used to make the different bubble drinks I’ve made so far

Tapioca Boba/Balls/Pearls(google any, I’m sure it’ll pop up somehow)

Tetley Tea Bags(for the tea)

Honey/granulated sugar(I mostly use honey as a substitute for brown sugar)

Milk( so far, I have tried soya Milk, whole Milk, evaporated milk)

Caramel Syrup

Mango and passion fruit juice

This totals up to about £10(#5,479)which is for about 7 large servings before the Tapioca pearls finishes. The Boba tea shop near me charges £4.10(#2,246) for a medium serving of Boba Tea. So you see why I’m shading you all.

I have included pictures of some of the different bubble teas I have made so far.

Results

This is how some of them looked. I would say my least Favorite one was the Mango and passion fruit drink. Mainly because the Juice was too acidic for me but I still loved it because of the Boba.

I think that everything looks good, I loved the tastes of all of them and I am supper obsessed.

I’ll rate all the drink I made 4/5 starts.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

That’s it for this post, see you in my next post creatures!

Question: Have you tried Boba/Bubble tea? what are your thoughts?

Fruit Cocktail in Grape juice smoothie.

Hi Creatures!

Yes, another smoothie post. I’m guessing you didn’t try the last one. Good. it tasted terrible. If you’re new here, welcome!. I was talking about the Homemade Raspberries and Black Grapes Smoothie, I made last time.

Anyways back to the post…

I was looking forward to trying out a mango and black grape smoothie but I couldn’t find mangoes. Okay that’s a lie. I couldn’t find cheap mangoes. So I checked the canned goods section , hoping to find something(canned mangoes), and there it was…canned fruit cocktail , in grape juice. GRAPE. As, I mentioned in my previous post, Grape-well black grape- is my top 5 fruit. So I just had to buy it.

Result

Okay this is the outcome of the blend.

Appearance

I think this is a great color. Tbh the sun plays a role in adding to the beauty.

Taste

To be honest, I only took a sip out of it an ended up throwing everything away. It smelled soo bad, like it smelled like old, stale, musty fruit. I don’t know how to explain it(even though I just explained it lol). The ‘grape juice’ was absolutely not nice, was that even grape Juice? ugh. Even while blending it , I felt like throwing up(okay that was because of something else but still). Asides from the looks, I have nothing positive to say about this experience.

Rating: 0/5. Never again.

Hopefully the next one I try will be better.

Stir fried Spaghetti with grilled Salmon

If it isn’t obvious already , I love spaghetti… and fish. Exhibit A, my first food post ever was on Stir fry spaghetti with White fish. Exhibit B, this is my second post on spaghetti AND fish. Exhibit C, you just have to trust my words on your screen.

So yeah this was another quick easy student Dinner. I would say I took around 1 hour(60 mins) to make this-but hear me out. I’m really slow in the kitchen and when I was making this , I was on a call so I was somewhat distracted.

These were the Ingredients I used

  • Spaghetti
  • Salmon Fillet
  • Mixed Vegetable
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Oregano
  • Salt
  • Curry
  • Black Pepper
  • Chili Pepper

I took the less is more approach by using 5 seasoning in this. One of the reason is because if I use too many seasoning then I would have to worry about balancing the taste. So I just threw in some spices that I know I would like and that way I don’t spend that much time on seasoning the food.

Result

I know, I know. The fish looks a little burnt , like I said I was on a call so I was somewhat distracted. Nevertheless, It really did taste nice, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beauty is also in the eye of the beholder and my eyes are telling me that this looks great!

Homemade Raspberries and Black Grapes Smoothie

I usually don’t eat breakfast. Not because It makes my stomach hurt or I’m on a diet . 9 times out of 10 , I’m not eating breakfast because I’m in bed during the time frame people would consider breakfast period. So I end up starting the day with Lunch and I am not complaining.

diana complaining GIF by YoungerTV

Anyways, in my goal to start having breakfast, I want to start having Smoothies for Breakfast. So I’m currently trying to explore more flavors through fruit combinations. In this case, Raspberries and Grapes. Raspberry was the cheapest fruit I could, three packs were going for £1. Who doesn’t love a bargain? . I chose black grapes because I love them , they’re part of my top 5 favorite fruits so it was to safest option to pair for me.

The Results

This is the outcome of the blend. It looks great. I decided to sieve out the smoothie, so it’s smoother. I added water because I prefer runny smoothies. I have never been a fan of thick smoothies . So this consistency is perfect from me. Of course it is , I made it.

I was disappointed by the taste. One of the reasons I like black grapes is because they’re really sweet. However, it seems these raspberries were too sour ,so the sweetness of the grapes was overshadowed by the sourness of the raspberries. I think the grapes also reduced the overall sourness. Sis was fighting for her life in the blender. All this to say, this smoothie did not taste as sweet as I expected…or sweet at all. I didn’t measure the Raspberry to Grape ratio but I did add more Raspberry.

I rate this is a 0.5/5. I don’t plan to try this combination again. I also struggled to finish it.

Eating African Food is now a Trend but nobody is talking about this| Moi Moi ,Nigerian Bean Cake.

Today’s post is dedicated to Nigerian Bean Cake also known as Moi Moi(Moin Moin). Incase you didn’t notice ,eating African food was a trend for while . Just click here- youtube .There was a whole drama involving Fufu and it’s just been crazy since then. So I felt I might as well talk about an African food  that  no one seems to be eating or talking about in their videos. It’s called Moi Moi(Moin Moin) in Nigeria, the English name is Bean cake.

I complied multiple pictures from the internet on how it typically looks. Take a look at it. Soo pretty

This is an example of how it is typically made.

There are many more videos on how to make it. Click here – Youtube.

For me, Moi Moi(Moin Moin) is one of the most unique dishes I have ever tasted. It’s amazing the varieties of dishes that you can make out of beans. And I think it is actually suitable to most dietary preferences/options but don’t quote me. Adding eggs , fish and beef to Moi Moi(Moin Moin) , is completely optional . In my household , we usually eat it with egg or fish but when we would buy it from restaurants , some don’t put anything inside.

Speaking of accompaniments, Moi Moi(Moin Moin) can be eaten on it’s own but we usually eat it with certain dishes. It’s almost like eating crispy chicken on it’s own compared to eating it with fries. You see what I mean? So In my household. we tend to eat Moi Moi(Moin Moin) with Custard , Pap , soaked Garri or Oats . There are even more options , if your’re comfortable with certain uncommon food combination. So do you boo.

I think Moi Moi(Moin Moin) and few of other Nigerian Bean dishes are amazing. I would definitely recommended people to try it . I can’t guaranty you would like it, but I can assure you that you have never tasted anything like it. Either good or bad, you will have a reaction . I know quite a few Nigerians  that don’t appreciate the taste of Moi Moi(Moin Moin) , which is fine. So if you end up trying Moi Moi one day and you love it make sure you let me know. BUT. if you don’t like the food , please respect the food and respect yourself.

To round up, Let me know what you think of Moi Moi(Moin Moin).

  • Have you seen or tasted Moi Moi(Moin Moin) before?
  • What do you like about it?
  • Do you see your self eating Moi Moi(Moin Moin) in the furture?

The Most filling Bagel Breakfast: Student Approved.

Growing up ,foods such as bagels and other bread varieties were never a vital part of my diet. When I came to UK , I would always purchase food that I ate back home or were at least similar to them. None of them were bagels, ofcourse.

Happy Adam Scott GIF by Sky

When I saw a video of someone eating Bagels (and having a good time), as a self-proclaimed enjoyment minister , it was only right to try it. So I went to the the store and got sausages , Bagels and eggs because I had something in my head that I wanted to attempt.

Thinking Kiko GIF by BROCKHAMPTON

I added a picture gallery of the step by step process of making it. I don’t think you’re here for the recipe so let’s keep it pushing.

My thoughts on bagels

I like them. I think they are almost chewy in a way,if that makes sense. Unlike sliced bread which is softer and lighter, Bagels are more dense and I like that which is why I tend to use it as I would, a burger bun.

My Thoughts On This Bagel Breakfast

This meal took around thirty minutes to make. This may vary depending on people’s speed in the kitchen. Personally, I enjoy eating fried eggs. It just has this unique taste and texture to it . The diversity of eggs and what can be done with it. AMAZING. Also,I’ve found it goes really well with bagel.

Mamma Mia GIF by Baby Ariel

I think this can be an everyday breakfast or mid-day snack. If you take out the sausages and stick with just eggs,it cuts down a lot of the time and calories in this meal. Overall I’m happy with it and It is definitely a budget meal for Me!

Question

Have you tried bagels before? What was your first impression?

Hey people. welcome BACK to my YouTube channel. Don’t forget to like , comment and subscribe!

Joking!

Yeah…well welcome to the first post on this category. Honestly, out of all the things I want to post for this blog ,I’d say this category is the one I’m still unsure about. For some reason, I strongly believe that people have one or two things to learn from me in the Kitchen. Me?!

For Me Secrets GIF by buzzfeedladylike

This is especially odd because I eat the same food almost all the time ,Hence the title of the post. So I don’t really know what I’m doing here. But as I have convinced myself I am needed in this space, I’m staying.

Tea Hair Flip GIF by swerk

For this post, I want to showcase my Brunch aka Breakfast and Lunch. I’m guessing you’re not here for the recipe because that’ll be really inconveniencing for both of us. As my cooking process is solely based on vibes.

This was the outcome of the food. As you can see, I made the effort to give this meal a PERSONALITY. You know with me being a chef n dat.

This was just Spaghetti with some bell peppers and onions paired with white fish fillet. I’m not sure if people would be confused but i’ll explain anyway. Growing up the protein was the additional part of the meal. So while people are eating chicken with some rice, I was eating rice with some chicken. Hopefully you understand.

Food Review!

To be honest, I really don’t like this fish , it always comes out dry even when I have it with soup (so, I know it’s not me). The rating of the meal would be 8/10. It was really peppery with just enough spices so I think it was good.

This is my type of meal right here. As a student, this is one of my go-to meals. It takes minimal effort and it doesn’t cost up to £5 for about 5 servings (or more , I never measure). In the past, I would buy frozen mixed vegetables ,boil the spag while my fish or chicken was in the oven. Just start a K-drama at the beginning of the cooking process and I’d be eating before the end of the episode.

Okay! That’s it for me today.

Thanks for stopping by! Let’s enjoy the rest of the week, shall we?
